CONVERSATION PIECE

My teens were spent in Harrogate, where I had excellent friends who experienced many highs and lows. Over the space of three years, they began to experiment with identity and sexuality and accept themselves. In the same period, Harrogate had its first Pride in Diversity, seeing the town come together to celebrate difference. I wanted to find out if, a year on, having Pride had helped them feel safer to be themselves and what their previous experiences had been.
